When you’re having a lie in on a Sunday morning, spare a thought for our team at Active Financial who will probably be out training somewhere for our latest fundraising challenge!
On 15th May a team from Active will head off from the beautiful village of St Bees in Cumbria in order to tackle the 140 mile journey to Saltburn.
We’ll be having two stops along the way – the first in Keswick in the Lake District, and we’ll be spending the second night at The Jersey Farm Hotel in Barnard Castle.
Day three will be a great day pedalling through the local countryside, heading past Darlington, Yarm, Stokesley and Guisborough before we finally reach the bottom of Saltburn bank and have chips and beer. If the sun is out, we’d love to see some of you along the way, with a cheer and a wave.
We’re taking it seriously. Our partners at Heartwood have helped us with our very own Coast to Coast cycling jersey with the logos of everyone involved including the Middlesbrough & Teesside Philanthropic Foundation. And James Robertson has even bought a bike for the occasion.
Of course it is going to be lots of fun, and an amazing challenge, but the main reason we are doing this is to raise funds for the Middlesbrough & Teesside Philanthropic Foundation. We’ve been supporting the Foundation for a number of years, and love the work they do in providing opportunities and funding for groups and people who would otherwise really struggle. In fact our lives have been enriched by our involvement, whether that was by serving Christmas Day Dinner to people in need in Stockton, sleeping out for a night, or presenting awards to some of the unsung community heroes in the region.

Look out on social media for updates regarding training – for some of us this is a real stretch so we’ll need your encouragement. Go Team Active!
