We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Vinay Bedi to the growing team at Active.
Vinay joins us following a long career as Senior Investment Adviser at Brewin Dolphin and then UBS Wealth Management based in the North East.
Teessider Vinay began his career in the industry almost 30 year’s ago as a Specialist Research Analyst focussing on North East companies (in particular). This led to work in corporate broking and (a period of time) working on and advising football clubs on fund raising, including the flotation of Manchester United Football Club in the early 90’s.
Vinay’s clients were originally (mainly) large institutional investors including pension funds and insurance companies before moving on to managing money on behalf of private clients, smaller corporate pension funds and charities.
Away from his day to day business life, Vinay has been a Judge for many Years for the North East Business Executive of the Year Awards and also a Governor and Chairman of Red House School in Norton (a school that he also attended).
Vinay’s experience in researching, investing and managing funds for North East clients has enabled him to build a large network of contacts; clients and business professionals across this area. Vinay has also helped to bring investment to the region.
A proud North Easterner, Vinay is a Middlesbrough Football Club Fan, Durham Cricket supporter and follower of Newcastle Falcons.
Vinay’s role at Active is to act as a consultant both for the clients he introduces (to Active) and in helping Active to continually strive to improve its’ offering.
Vinay comments “What I have learned over the last few years about Active is that here is a young, fresh and dynamic business that has grown up in an era of new higher expectations and regulations. Active’s Chartered Financial Planner status means that they work to standards offered by only a tiny proportion of Financial Planning firms.”
Vinay holds Fellowship status of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
