Key Services
Liza is a chartered financial planner who specialises in working with clients on their investment and retirement planning, helping them to secure their financial future with confidence. In addition to her comprehensive financial planning services, Liza focuses on providing tailored advice for individuals navigating divorce. She also works closely with a local solicitor who specialises in mediation, ensuring her clients receive well-rounded support during this challenging transition.
Liza prides herself on maintaining excellent relationships with her clients, which she believes comes from regular communication. Liza’s excellent customer service frequently generates business from referrals, which reflects a high level of client satisfaction.
Liza has a particular interest in the pensions gender gap and has worked hard to raise awareness on this issue.
“The gender pensions gap remains a challenge, but financial planners can play a key role in helping women to bridge the gap. Beginning early, and with the correct education we can empower women with financial literacy and the tools to navigate their financial future” says Liza
“By creating a safe and supportive environment, financial planners like myself and my colleagues can help women to overcome anxieties and take control of their financial well-being. Together we can empower women to achieve financial confidence and build a future where everyone can thrive financially”
Liza works with The Power of Women (a local charity), sponsoring a young female ambassador and also volunteered for the Chartered Insurance Institute’s (CII) Insuring Women’s Futures programme as an ambassador.
Darlington based Liza works with clients predominantly in the County Durham and Teesside areas.
Career Profile
Liza joined Active Chartered Financial Planners in 2013 following a long and successful career at the Yorkshire Bank.
Joining YB as a bank clerk at age just 16, Liza studied while working full time, progressing through various roles and qualifying as financial adviser in 1997. Liza spent more than 20 years at YB (and AXA) as one of the top advisers, continuing to study and improve her skills & knowledge, and gaining her Diploma in 2011.
In June 2018 after 2 years of continuous study, Liza achieved fellowship status from the Personal Finance Society, the highest qualification awarded in the industry.
Liza was awarded ‘Outstanding Achievement’ in the Yorkshire Financial Awards in 2019 and the ‘Outstanding Achievement Financial Adviser North East’ award at the Professional Adviser Women in Financial Advice Awards in 2023.
Client testimonial
“Liza was excellent at explaining investments and talking us through the service she would provide us with so that we knew exactly what to expect. She provided us with clear explanations of the products and did not put any pressure on us to proceed with her advice. As you can see, we cannot praise Liza highly enough.”
